One of our most effective and rewarding programs at the Ahoskie Chamber. We have 9 small businesses currently in the program. Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy. 84% of all businesses are small, meaning under 50 employees, however our program is for newly formed business employing 5 or fewer employees. Statistically, 18% fail within the first year. Half falter in the first 5 years and within 10 years 65% close. Common stress points for them are setting up their accounting and tax schedules, undercapitalization hiring, marketing and effectively branding themselves We mentor these new entrepreneurs during their first year of operation and carefully guide them to the resources they need to build a solid foundation for their future growth.
